T-VIPS Scores Video Transport Deal for Telenor's Norkring Norwegian Soccer Contribution
JPEG2000-based contribution system carries video from every top-flight stadium to Norwegian FA's Central Media Server

T-VIPS AS, a global leader in professional video management and distribution, with advanced solutions for the contribution & distribution of broadcast quality video signals, today announced that Norkring AS, the leading provider of broadcasting services in Norway, has selected T-VIPS JPEG2000-based TVG415 video gateways for the contribution of Norwegian soccer coverage from stadiums around the country to broadcasters and IPTV vendors.
The T-VIPS TVG415s will enable the efficient and cost-effective contribution of soccer content from all 15 Norwegian Premier League (Tippeligaen) stadiums to the Norwegian Football Association's content management system. The JPEG2000 system will be utilizing both IP and ASI links. Norkring is owned by Telenor ASA and is part of Telenor Broadcast Holding, one of three core divisions of the Telenor Group.

The TVG415 is part of the T-VIPS Video Gateway suite; a line of compact, powerful and cost-effective products designed for real-time contribution and distribution of broadcast quality video over IP networks. The TVG415 provides JPEG2000 compression of SDI signals, enabling cost-effective transmission of high quality TV signals over both Ethernet and ASI links. There is a simple upgrade path to enable the TVG415 to transport HD-SDI signals.
