Gregers Kronborg
Mister No Mission Impossible
Nothing is really impossible if one really tries, Gregers says, then adds "even the successful start-ups have most often faced setbacks during their evolution. It's in those situations that creativity fuelled by fear of failure often emerges."
Gregers joined Northzone in 2003 in the aftermath of the IT-bubble, but not without conducting a serious due diligence upon his future colleagues.
Since then, he has settled well in the team and into the role of venture capitalist instead of entrepreneur, although he maintains his chops well through interaction with the portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Northzone, Gregers was an active and hands-on business angel and member of the Danish business angel network. Gregers co-founded the Danish broadband start-up COCOM in the mid-90's. COCOM was acquired by Cisco in 1999 and Gregers served as general manager of Cisco Cable Products and Solutions in Denmark. Prior to co-founding COCOM, Gregers was management consultant and partner in Bisballe Planlægning serving Danish and international clients, and he served as expert and evaluator to the European Commission R&D programs.
When not investing time and money with Northzone, Gregers spends time with his family and enjoys skiing in the winter and golfing and wind surfing in the summer. He also finds joy in Real Estate projects, having initiated and developed a sizeable rental apartment project outside Copenhagen in Denmark, a venture that already delivers attractive cash flow.
Gregers holds a M.Sc. in Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark, and a B.Sc. in Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School. Gregers serves as director of the Board of Asetek, Napatech, T-VIPS. Gregers serves as deputy chairman of the Danish Venture Capital and Private Equity Association, and chairman of the venture segment of DVCA. And finally Gregers is a member of the board of the Business Innovation Fund established by the Danish Government.
