Karl-Christian Agerup
You know, says Karl Christian, nobody at Northzone is primarily motivated by the financials. We are passionate about building companies, and we're deadly serious about it, no matter where on the planet we are located.
Karl-Christian should know. After all, he was one of the co-founders of Northzone and for him Northzone was a 24-7 lifestyle. In 2008 KC moved to Perth, Australia with his entire family for two years, and was actively involved with several technology companies in Australia. In 2010, he moved back to Norway and is now the CEO of Oslo Innovation Center, a 50,000 Sq. meter research and technology park owned by the University of Oslo and several other public and private companies.
Clinically speaking, one might well put Karl-Christian down as a "serial entrepreneur with a compulsive bent". Before co-founding Northzone, he co-founded the Internet Start-ups Hugin, Arakno and Intergate. All the companies are still alive and well. And still growing. A strong networker, it was natural for Karl-Christian to set up First Tuesday in Oslo, the meeting club for Entrepreneurs and VC´s.
Like a few others in the firm, Karl-Christian honed his analytical skills at McKinsey & Co and he has worked as an analyst at Milipore Corp, Boston, MA. It was also in Boston he completed his MBA at MIT.
KC continues to serve on the Board of T-VIPS. He is also a Board member of publishing group Schibsted, the Australian photomap company Nearmap and state owned Norfund. You can find him on LinkedIn.
